Showcase 2009: Rome
By Mr. Girard | November 6, 2009
Rome was the next city on our 2009 tour after Florence. Along with London, Rome is my most-looked-forward-to city on tour. The hot spots are crowded and busy, but the in-betweens are peaceful and pleasant. Day one in Rome began at the city’s most famous landmark, the Flavian Amphitheater, from which we continued on to the Forum.

Karen enjoying gelato near the Pantheon. The store we visited had 100 flavors.
Casey enjoying a sandwich for lunch before we met our other team members.
One last shot at the Pantheon after which we headed to and headed to Piazza Navona.

Lounging on the Steps in the afternoon.
We toured the Vatican on day two, which included a visit to the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica. Here’s Team AZ in St. Peter’s Square.

We left Rome before noon and headed south to Sorrento where we spent our last days in Italy but not before we visited Pompeii.
More photos from there next time.
